Naan is a very popular Indian flatbread. It is typically a pillowy soft flatbread made using yeast and traditionally baked in a tandoor or oven. Naan is so popular that it is mostly available in the menu of every Indian restaurant all over the world.
To make the naan fluffy, in many recipes, an egg or yogurt are used. I have used lime juice ,baking powder and baking soda combination to make it soft and fluffy. Sugar is used to balance the taste and it gives a nice color to naan.
Traditional recipes use all purpose flour which contributes to milky white color and softness of naan. I always try to make the recipe healthier, and hence I have used whole wheat flour. These naan taste so good and stay soft for hours.
This recipe is a quick recipe of making naan and does not need any fermentation process. There is no need to use an oven. It can be made on a griddle. The best part is you can make naan with easily available ingredients.
I will be posting a naan recipe using yeast soon.
