Greek Style Salad Bowl

This salad recipe is a wholesome meal. This recipe is protein packed and has a medley of fresh colorful vegetables and juicy cherry tomatoes. Kalamata Olives , extra-virgin Olive oil and Tahini paste are the ingredients making this salad an authentic Greek recipe. This crunchy, colorful and refreshing salad with a flavorful dressing is the best salad to enjoy in  summer. 

Ingredients:

Cooked Chickpeas Or Canned Garbanzo beans2 Cups
Roughly chopped Cucumber1 ½ Cups
Roughly chopped sweet peppers1 Cup
Roughly chopped red onion½ cup
Cherry tomatoes10-12
Chopped lettuce1 Cup
Finely chopped parsley1 tbsp
Kalamata Olives7-8
Chili flakes½ Tbsp
For salad dressing:
Tahini paste2 Tbsp
Extra-virgin olive oil2 Tbsp
Lime juice1 lemon
SaltAs per taste
Black pepper powder½ Tbsp

Recipe:

For making the salad dressing:-

  • In a bowl, add tahini paste, extra-virgin olive oil and lime juice 
  • Whisk and mix all the ingredients
  • Add salt, black pepper powder and chili flakes

For making salad:

  • To a salad bowl, add Chickpeas, Chopped Cucumber, Cherry tomatoes, chopped red onion
  • Add Kalamata Olives, Lettuce and sweet peppers
  • Add parsley
  • Add salad dressing, salt and chili flakes 
  • Mix everything gently 
  • The salad is ready to serve 
  • You may also serve this salad in a pita pocket

Tips:

  • Tahini paste is easily available in grocery stores
  • You can make tahini paste at home
  • Blend 4 tbsp of dry lightly roasted sesame seeds in a blender jar till you get a creamy paste
